Happy Birthday my Two Peas in a Pod!

Our baby boys turned 3, yes 3, on December 1! My memories -

Wesley Aaron - born on December 1, 2006 at 9:50am weighing 6lb 3oz, 19in long

You walked at 9months old! One of your first words was mama. Your favorite baby food was carrots, apple cereal baby food, and Gerber Graduates strawberry yogurt bites!

You took a paci until you were a little over 2 and then decided that you would sleep with a pillowcase instead. You were pretty much potty trained a couple of weeks ago. YAY!

My favorite memory was the night we came home from the hospital and you projectile pooped ALL OVER your
g-momma! We laughed and laughed! Recently, you were walking in the gym at church and saw a ball stuck in the ceiling. You said, "Mommy, there is a ball up there. We need to get it, I know, I a great jumper!". I love you very much and can't believe your little imagination! It is BIG! You like to play tea party using your pillow case and tools (daddy doesn't like this very much). Your favorite t.v. show is The Wonder Pets. You are a big boy and sleep in your own big boy bed! I tried to get to you to come sleep with us one night when you were sick, and you said that you were a big boy and slept in your own room!

William Daniel - born on December 1, 2006 at 9:51am weighing 7lb 3oz, 19in long

You walked at 10months old! One of your first words was dada. Your favorite baby food was apples/plums, apple cereal baby food, and Gerber Graduates yogurt bites!

You took a paci until you were a little over 2 and then decided that you would sleep with a "Pana" instead. (This is the Panda your Nana got you). Your favorite phrase is "Bubba, we don't hit our friends. That not nice. We be nice to your friends!"

My favorite memory was when you climbed in my lap and asked me to sing you a "baby" song, you and I sang Jesus Loves Me. Your favorite t.v. show is The Wonder Pets and you just love choo-choo trains! You are still working on going to the potty but mommy and daddy are proud of the effort you put into it! You still like to sneak in the bed with mommy and daddy at night! (We secretly like snuggling with you too) You love to sing! Recently you learned a Christmas song called Jingle Bells. Well, you changed a word in the song. Instead of saying one HORSE open sleigh, you decided to say one COW open sleigh!

I love you both very much! Happy (late) Birthday to two of the best boys EVER! (Below picture - you are with your cousin Brianna and did not want your picture taken. This was October 2009)

Labor Day!

We spent Labor Day weekend in Gatlinburg! Everyone was quite well, until Thursday night. Friday was leaving day. Wes and Will both were up all night throwing up. At least we taught them to use the bucket! We went ahead and went to Gatlinburg thinking it was a stomach bug. By Friday night neither boy was throwing up, but Will started to run a fever of 99. Dr. Saben says not to worry if it isn't over 100.4. Remember he had JUST been to the doctor on Tuesday and had no ear infections or anything. So, Saturday we went about our business shopping, etc. By the time we got home for the Alabama game Will's fever was at 102! Of course, the closest place to take him was the hospital in Sevierville. A 15minute drive took an hour! We finally arrived at the hospital, and let me just say that was the best, organized, nicest hospital we have ever been to! We were in and out in under 2 hours! Guess what? My little baby was diagnosed with Strep! He was given a one-time shot and it should have cleared everything up. He still wasn't feeling well on Sunday, but hey medicine takes time. So, we went to one of those places were the boys to ride a choo-choo train and ride some carnival rides! They LOVED it! Will even had some giggles come out! Monday finally came and poor little Will still didn't feel good and he was still running a fever. Chad took him to a second shift doc in the box when we got home. A chest x-ray was done, blood drawn, and strep test done. The strep test came back negative, but Dr. Marshall said he still had it. The chest x-ray showed some pneumonia, but that the shot Will received on Saturday must have helped with that. So by Wednesday, our little baby was back at school playing and being his old self! Guess what, Wes never has gotten sick! (Yet!)

Blog Background

Any of my Blog followers know how to get a new cool blog background? I had one, but it didn't work right or else it was the person trying to get it to work ;).

Busy Times, means Fun!!

Finally! The boys went to sleep tonight with us getting on to them only once! My once little boys are growing up to be little men! We were at school the other day coloring the letter "A". Usually the boys color allll over the sheet, but that day they decided to try to color INSIDE the lines of the "A"! I was like what, when did this happen? It is amazing to me how they grow up so quickly and they soak up EVERYTHING! Both boys can recognize all of their primary colors and a few letters and most shapes. I work with them, but I don't work with them that much. It is just amazing what they hear. I am like, whoa, the actually listen to me! Ha Ha!

On a different note, we went to eat the other night and both boys went in their underwear! Both boys used the potty at the restaurant not once, but twice!! Needless to say, we went for ice cream afterward. They totally deserved it! I was SO proud of them! We have now gone from a case of diapers a week to a half a case a week. Remember, they still wear diapers at night and part-time at daycare because I refuse to waste money on a pull-up, which is the same material as a diaper but costs twice as much.

So far this summer, we have gone to the beach (twice), went to Alabama Adventure, had friends over to play on the huge blow up slide, went to parks, and now it is time for school to start back. I just love that they are at the age that we can so stuff with them! We are going to Gatlinburg in September, we can't wait! God has really blessed us with the opportunities to do all of these things!

This fall, mommy will be working part-time at Wes and Will's daycare, going to school, doing church stuff, taking care of my family, and studying. I may not post another blog for a while, but bare with me. I will update as time allows, but don't expect too much from me...ha ha! Just know that Wes and Will do remember you all and ask about (actually they say they want to see) you all!!!

famous last words

So, the boys spent the night with my mom Tuesday night. She went to her room Wednesday morning to get dressed and notices the boys are really quite. She comes in to find Wes in her computer chair, Will with her sissors saying, "Be still Wes, I cut you hair"! Luckily she got the sissors just in time! =D

Fun in the Sun or Rain!

Well, it has been almost a month since my last post. We have been very busy. I have been working a TON, had some minor surgery, and spent this past weekend at the river. Chad has been working, taking care of me, and the house, and helping with the boys. Wes and Will rode the inner tube! They LOVED it! They just love riding the boat and helping Gran to drive. Last year, they fought us on the whole life jacket thing, but this year they understood that in order to ride the boat they had to wear the life jacket. Very smart those boys are.

Work is awesome! I couldn't ask for a better job for the summer! I have been working in Wes and Will's class the last two weeks. I work in their class two days and with the 2nd-6th grade the other two. A child called me teacher the other day and I corrected her to say that she should call me Mrs. Gerri. Wes and Will said at the same time, "No, you mommy"! I had to teach them that at school I am Mrs. Gerri to the other children. So, now they think they should call me Mrs. Gerri too! It is too funny! Gotta love having two-two year olds!!

Beachin' It

Last week we went to the beach! It was sooo much fun! My step-brother got married in Gulf Shores on May 1st and we used that time as a trial run with Wes and Will for the beach. Neither boy like the sand, but got used to it with time. This time around Wes was my little beach bum. He didn't like the sand, but he tolerated it. Will didn't like the beach at all! He would say, "No mommy, I not like the beach. I go Gran's cono!" Ha,Ha! Bless his little heart. We took the boys on a Dolphin cruise where they saw "big fish" and we went to see the Blue Angels! The boys liked seeing the hairplanes, as they call them, but didn't like it when they rode right over us! It was LOUD! I wondered why there was a man outside selling ear plugs! LOL We also had some family photos made while we were there, I will post them when I get them! They turned out really good! It was a much needed break and so nice to have nothing to do for a whole week!
On a side note I would like to ask you all to pray for our VBS this week. Today was the first day and we totaled 614! God is so good!

Day in the Life

So, as this week comes to a close I would like each of you reading this to pray for my dear friend Debbie and her newborn son, Brock. He is having some reflux issues and is at Children's Hospital. She has three other girls and no family here. Myself with two other ladies have been helping with the girls. I know this is a difficult time for them, so please pray for guidance, peace, comfort, and to give the doctors knowledge so that help can be given to baby Brock.

Now, last post we were potty training. That phase has been put on hold for a week or so. We have had so much going on. I start a part-time job this summer (tomorrow to be exact) working at Wes and Will's daycare, Jacksonville Christian. I get to help with the 2nd-6th graders summer program. This will look really good when it is time for job hunting after I graduate! I am super excited and more excited that the boys will get to attend daycare for FREE and their teacher, Mrs. Carmen, is going to help me get them using the potty! YAY! I really wanted to attend the Beth Moore conference in Memphis, Tennessee in October. Our "Godly Girlfriends" from church are going. In order for me to go on this trip, I had to get some kind of job this summer to pay for it. Did I mention that I was excited?! :D Most days I work from 2-6 and others I will work 8-12 and there are a few days I will work 8-4. Not too bad. I will still have time to get things done in the morning or afternoon. Wes and Will will get to play with their friends from school and get a break from seeing their mommy all day, everyday! So, looks like this is going to be a fun filled, busy summer!

Raising Two - Two Year Olds

So, here I am trying out this whole blogging thing. Like I have time to be sitting here writing a blog! As you all know, Chad and I have twin boys Wes and Will. Just a little history before I get started, the boys were born via a scheduled c-section on December 1, 2006. I was 38 weeks pregnant. Wesley Aaron came in weighing 6lbs 3oz and was 19in long. William Daniel came in weighing 7lb 3oz and was 19in long. Yes, I was HUGE! That is the question I most often get, "How big was your belly?". Now that you have the 411 let's get started!

Wes and Will are now two and so far we have conquered the task of walking, breaking the bottle habit, breaking the pacy habit, and now time for potty training! I thought it would be a lot easier than it has been. They just don't seem to be interested in the whole taking time out from playing to go "pee-pee" on the potty. What do I do? They are sitting on the potty most of the day with a drink in hand. They could care less at the whole you get a prize if you potty. They know they will be going to visit the grandparents soon enough! If any of you have any suggestions on this potty training thing, please let me know! THANKS!!
